Landscape Architects Bedford

Bringing a fresh new approach to Landscape Architecture
in a changing world

Terrain Planning & Design in Bedford NH are licensed landscape architects serving Southern New Hampshire and the Lakes Region with landscape design services, land planning, and shoreline permitting for waterfront areas. The projects they work on are as varied as the clientele they serve. At any one time, Terrain Planning & Design may be working on a trail system for Concord New Hampshire's Parks Department; shoreline permitting for landscape contractors in Meredith; or land-use planning for a commercial land developer who wants to open a retail shopping mall in Nashua.

Playground Designers in NH

Natural playground design. One of the specialties of Terrain Planning is working with schools and towns in creating play environments that use natural elements and interpretive play features. Instead of the bright colored plastic that is designed for a specific use, interpretive playground design uses natural features to create safe imaginative play areas for kids. A metal swing set is always a metal swing set. But a large boulder and strategically placed log can be pirate ship, a mountain, or an African elephant.

Sustainable landscape design. Another hallmark of Terrain Planning & Design is the way they integrate the built environment into the natural world. Traditional building and development has put a strain on native wildlife and New Hampshire ecosystems. Working together with the client, these architects seek to develop landscape plans that use native plant species and allow natural "corridors" within the larger developments and commercial properties. These corridors allow for the free movement of wildlife from one location to another. More than just simply designing landscapes with native plants, sustainable landscaping is a vision for the region as a whole to live in harmony with the natural world around us.

"Client first" philosophy. Terrain Planning and Design enjoys working with their clients most of all. Their architects are always striving for a synergistic solution, involving the clients in a collaborative way. With four landscape architects on staff, Terrain Planning is always available for a simple home landscape design, or assisting landscape contractors with project management, or land planning services in multiple locations. If you think that you may need the assistance of a landscape architect, Terrain Planning will meet with you on a complimentary basis to help you determine what the best use of your land is - whether 1 acre or 100!
